Description: Caricature of the Spokesman for the Syrian Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry under Bashir, Jihad Makdissi, posing in front of a pile of corpses. He is noted for his downplaying of atrocities against civilians and others during the Syrian unrest. Some of his claims have bordered unintentionally on black comedy. The lengthy caption and description of Makdissi and his actions reveal the cartoonist's attitude toward him. 'Blackadder' refers to a cynical and would-be villain played by the comedian Rowan Atkinson on television, while the cartoonist also refers to the 'Edinburgh Festival', the Fringe shows of which were noted for their dark humour. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).
