They have since been placed into a series sequence, reflecting the major divisions in the collection Eric Warner was born near Raetihi into a family involved in the sport of woodchopping. His father, Walter, a local organiser of the sport as well as an axeman, helped formulate the handicapping system, which was of crucial importance in the `cash' sports of athletics and woodchopping. Eric acted as his secretary, and, although an athlete rather than an axeman, developed a deep interest in the sport, but found that the records of woodchopping, as a result of its 'bush' origins and its fractured administration to be badly kept or lost. He embarked on an attempt to retrieve a full history record. He was also a historian of the Waimarino area and of histories of small bush towns. Quantity: 179 folder(s). 6 Linear Metres.
