War photographer. Born in Carterton. Cinematographer for J E Vinsen in 1930s, filming 1937 Springbok tour and three Donovan-Sarron boxing bouts. Official photographer to 2NZEF; captured by Germans at Sidi Rezegh 1941. Photographed life in prison camps, and the forced march by N Z prisoners. After the war filmed return of POWs to UK and the 2NZEF (Kiwi) rugby team tour. On return to N Z associated with Apex Films Ltd, and founded Television Films Ltd. Managed the Vogue Cinema in Brooklyn Wellington. Died in Wellington. (Registrar general, Evening Post 6 June 1952).
