Description: Photographic prints show overseas locations visited by the Cleveland family in Europe and the United States of America, circa 1980s. Taken by Les Cleveland. Includes street scenes with buildings, local people, and street performers (steel drum and acoustic guitar players). Sites include the Águas Livres aqueduct in Lisbon, Portugal, and St Patrick's Cathedral New York City and the Vietnam Veterans Wall in Washington D.C., USA. Also, one photograph shows unidentified men in a bar. Edward Cleveland appears in one photograph. Title supplied by Library. Description: Transparencies of bridges, taken by Geoffrey or Jocelyn Thornton. Most slide mounts are annotated with the subject (bridge or viaduct name, and/or river/stream name, and/or road name) and location (town, city, or area). Dates and photographer name are sometimes annotated. Arrangement: Slides were arranged in various sizes of slide containers, generally in alphabetical order, although the term used for alphabetising varied between location, river name, or bridge name. Quantity: 1135 colour original transparency/ies. 5 b&w copy transparency/ies. Physical Description: Colour and black and white transparencies in plastic and cardboard slide mounts. Processing information: Slides have been removed from original container and put into archival pockets, following the original order, from left to right and top to bottom. Sheets containing fewer slides than the total number of pockets denote the end of the contents of an original container.
