Previously resident of Hobart, Tasmania. Arrived in Wellington in 1854 per 'Bonnie Doon' with children Fanny, Marion, Johnny, Kate and Mark. Second wife of James Fougere (they married in Westbury, Tasmania in 1852), publican (Settlers' Hotel) of Clive, Hawke's Bay. Married Boswell Danby Danvers on 1 Oct 1863 at Clive, Hawke's Bay; according to the marriage notice Marion was the widow of Capt Henry Harper Lomax of HM's 8th Regiment, late of Bristol, England (Hawke's Bay herald, 7 Oct 1863, p 3). Went with Danvers and her family to the Chatham Islands in 1866 with Hauhau prisoners. Settled in Waitangi, Chatham Islands. Mother of Marion Harper Lomax (Mrs Francis Edward Hamlin, d 1927), Fanny Fougere (Mrs John Stickley; d 1931), James Johnny Fougere (d 1937), Catherine Julia Fougere (1852-1942), Frank Harry Fougere (b 1854, in Hobart, Tasmania), George William Fougere (b 1857), and Emily Helen Florence Fougere (1861-1864).
