Anglican minister, Ulster (ca 1859-1877) and Katikati, Bay of Plenty (ca 1882-1893). Rev Johnston and his wife arrived in New Zealand with their children on the 'Lady Jocelyn', Belfast to Auckland, in 1878. Daughter was Frances Maria, who married a Mulgan.
