Description

13 interviews with figures involved in the New Zealand shearing industry, conducted by Ruth Low in 2017 as material for her book 'The Shearers' (2019). Interviews were with farmers, farm managers, shearers, and shearing contractors.

The interviewees were: Reginald (Reg) Benjamin, Richard Brewer, Peter Casserly, John and Catherine Ford, Katherine (Kate) Foster, Richard Foster, Sam Jefferis, Brian Kerr, Jack Luttrell, Charles (Charlie) Matthews, Myles Mullooly, Edmund (Eddie) Parkinson, and Richard Winiata.

Project received Award in Oral History funding from Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage in 2016.
