Collection comprises oral history interviews relating to the connection to Tāranaki amongst Tāranaki Māori who live or have lived in Australia. It looks at the development of Tāranaki Māori communities in Australia, and how connection for the interviewees is fostered though marae, haukainga, tikanga, te teo Māori, and whakapapa.
Interviews with Shirley Spooner, Rachel Buchanan, Neville Gilmore, Ihaka Noble, Mitchell Ritai, and Agnes Wharehoka were conducted by Honiana Love. Two interviews were conducted by Honiana Love and Claire Hall; one interview was conducted by Honiana Love and Hokipera Ruakere.
Interviews were conducted in English and te reo Māori, in both Australia and Taranaki.
Project received a New Zealand Oral History Award.
