A compilation of 25 lockdown haikus created by Katrina Harris about the COVID-19 pandemic. Haikus were originally posted on Facebook, almost daily, between the 28th of March and 28th April, during New Zealand’s 2020 Level 4 nationwide lockdown. Each haiku provides a personal commentary on the author’s lockdown experiences, and other personal events, experienced at that time. A screenshot of each Facebook post was then taken by the author, including any Facebook comments, likes, and images, and complied in a Word document.

Katrina Harris is a New Zealander who responded to a call from the National Library of New Zealand to build a documentary record of New Zealand’s experience of the COVID-19 pandemic. During New Zealand’s first COVID-19 nationwide level 4 lockdown she posted daily haikus on Facebook to provide a personal commentary on her lockdown experiences.
