Description

The first extant volume in a series of sketchbooks by Croft Augustus Marsack. Comprises table of contents followed by pencil and watercolour sketches numbered 33 to 76, dated 1848 to 1859.

The "Index to the sketches" lists the titles as follows:

- No. 33 Equihen with the warren coast in the distance.

- No. 34 The Green hills (Green hill flat) Condette warren.

- No. 35 Vimereux castle with point Alpreck in the distance.

- No. 36 Our house at Outreau from the gardens.

The captions from the preliminary index pages are not repeated on the sketches, which have the number inscribed in the top right and in many cases the year in the top left corner.
