Comprises a typescript transcription of Carlyon's diary describing his experiences on the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1956-1958). Carlyon was part of Sir Edmund Hillary's Scott Base winter party. Typescript created by Mrs Lyn Carlyon from the original diary of Roy Carlyon in the early 1980s. The diary records day to day activities, expeditions, hut activities, dog management, surveying explorations, and other comments by Carlyon.
