Trades Hall (Auckland, N.Z.)

Buiudling at 157 Hobson Street, Auckland. Designed by Hoggard and Prouse and built circa 1910-1912 for the Auckland Trades Council. Constructed of brick and an unusual barrel-vaulted iron roof. It is of the Edwardian Italianate style with a rusticated base, simple cornice and balustraded first floor. In the 1950s the building was also used for social dances.

In 1972 the Auckland Trades Council moved headquarters to Great North Road. Later the building was renovated and opened as Auckland City Hotel.
