- Description
Discusses tides (in the oceans and lakes), which apparently can be influenced differently at different locations, for example, some by the moon, some by the sun. Notes that it is still not fully understood how fully tidal rhythms work. Hears how many prominent people in history have tried to work it out and had their own theories. Explains that New Zealand is in an unusual position, having its landmass on an amphidromic point or tidal node - in a location that has zero tidal amplitude. Describes the different tides along NZ's shores.
