A Marae on Station Road, near Dargaville, relating to Te Roroa. Also known as 'Te Houhanga a Rongo'. The whare nui is called Rāhiri and was built in 1914, and the whare kai is named Pouwaata.

Description: Photographs taken by Gil Hanly at the Ngā Puna Waihanga hui at Ōtūrei Marae, near Dargaville in 1995; workshops held at Te Houhanga Marae near Dargaville, and Matatina Marae in the Waipoua Forest; and an exhibition opening in Whangarei. One of the photographs is also identified as a Regional hui, one as taken at the AGM, and some at the pōwhiri at Ōtūrei Marae. Identified people include Para Matchitt, Dame Te Atairangikaahu, Whatumoana Paki, Manos Nathan, Baye Riddell, Doe (Reihana) Parata, Georgina Kirby, Te Aue Davis, and students from Te Tai Rawhiti Polytechnic working on panels for Dargaville High School. Also includes unidentified performers, and models wearing Jeanine Clarkin's designs (with Jeanine appearing in the image but obscured). Title supplied by Library.
