Description

Transparencies of country churches in New Zealand, taken by Geoffrey Thornton or Jocelyn Thornton. Each slide mount is annotated with the name and the location of the church. Dates and photographer name are sometimes annotated.

Churches and locations annotated on the slide mounts include St David's Memorial Church at Cave, "first St John's Church now parish hall/sunday school" at Hororata, St John's Anglican Church at Hororata, Church of Holy Innocents at Mount Peel, Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo, St Anne's Anglican Church at Pleasant Valley, St Paul's Anglican Church at Glenmark, St Stephen's Anglican Church at Tuahiwi, St Mary the Virgin at Beaconsfield, St Peter's Anglican Church at Teddington, and St John's Anglican Church at Barrhill.

Arrangement: Transparencies were arranged in five small plastic slide cases, each holding approximately 30-40 mounted transparencies, and each labelled "Country Churches". There was no apparent order.

Processing information: Slides have been removed from container and put into archival pockets, following the original order, from left to right and top to bottom.
