Photograph taken by an unidentified photographer, probably 1940s-1960s, showing duck shooter R M Royds (probably Rex M Royds) in a bushy mai mai on Invercargill Estuary. Inscriptions on reverse read 'Well known Southland sportsman (R M Royds) looks out with gun from mai mai in the Invercargill Estuary' and 'Duck shooting is a very popular sport in NZ and thousands of acres of good free shooting water is available in Southland. Gunmen gets ready for the "flight" in his hide on the Invercargill Estuary. Countless numbers of ducks are shot in this area'. Inscription on mount reads 'no neg'.
