Letter by Riria Te Rutu to Tiemi [James], written from Motueka, 11 November 1893.
Riria mentions Hema, who is unwell [“kua porangitia”] in Wellington. She also mentions that Hori Takimana, Henare and Akaraia were spending the week with “us both”; that Hori had asked about the kuia’s “taonga” that Tiemi had sold to the Pakeha; Te Rei land at Richmond and that it is being dealt with in the court in Nelson; and a letter or book relating to Te Make [Mackay?] that Tiemi had sent to them.
