Description

He reta ki a Tiemi Parete nā Hoori Karaka, i tuhia i Motueka, i te 11 o Noema, 1896.

Letter by Hori Karaka Kohe to Tiemi Parete [James Perrott], dated Motueka, 11 November 1896.

It contains greetings, and asks Tiemi to pass on his greetings to Mititi Kemara [Mrs Kemara], Ha ata Pira [Hadfield?] and Mititi Ha ata Pira [Mrs Hadfield?]. Also contains a haka, a waiata, and hymn 87, and discusses problems relating to Hori’s travels to Wellington, and a comment possibly about a section of land in Waiharakeke [probably the place near Awaroa, but Blenheim is also known as Waiharakeke].
