Sketchbook containing sketches of New Zealand landscapes. Includes colour legends indicating what colours to use for each area. Probably used for planning of watercolour paintings. Views include the schoolhouse and grounds at Ormondville, Otaki College grounds, "the cottage" at Otaki, "Hospital grounds Otaki", and a recipe for "Sago plum pudding". Loose papers tucked inside the sketchbook show "Ma[kotuku?]" (1894), Rangitoto from Mayfield (1910), and cliffs at Mohaka (1929) as well as a newspaper clipping.
