Description

All images taken in the Legislative Council Chamber and in the Banqueting Hall at Parliament during a Māori Women's Welfare League conference. Two women have been identified: Keri Kaa (frame 8), and Iritana Tawhiwhirangi speaking from the dais (frames 7 & 10). A large banner is partially visible in the background (frame 10), which reads "[Ma?]tauranga o [Te?] Iwi". Several unidentified men, including kaumatua, are seen in images in this sequence. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
