- Description
All scenes taken during the Waitangi Day land protests in 1982. The first two images show two young men inside with a board behind listing various types of burgers including ham burgers, egg burgers and cheese burgers. A group of people are walking along a road (frames 3). The following frames show mostly young protesters, both Māori and pākehā, are behind a rope, facing a long line of police across a strip of grass (frames 4 to 12). Placards are being held up, including " Muildoon supports the Treaty of Waitangi", Waitangi Treaty - Broken Promise", and "Bastion Point is Māori land". Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
