Description

Groups of people are seen outside, probably at Te Tii Marae. Women are wearing traditional clothing, including pari (woven bodices) and tipare (headbands). Some are wearing piupiu, traditional flax skirts, (frames 3 & 7), some are wearing a fabric skirt with (possibly) appliqued designs on them (frames 1 & 2). Ans Westra has focussed on one man wearing a tapeka (woven sash worn across his body), and tipare (frames 8 to 11). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
