- Description
Scenes taken at Otiria Marae, Moerewa, and at Hikurangi township. At the Otiria Marae a woman is sitting in the shade with two small children (frame 2); and a large number of people are walking across the area in front of the wharenui Tūmatauenga (frames 3 to 6). The following frames were taken in Hikurangi with a number of workmen acrss from the Hikurangi District War Memorial Hall. A man is watering a strip of rubble (possibly preparatory to laying concrete) in front of a small house with verandah (frame 8); a man is in the doorway of a small shop (frames 7 & 8); a man is smoking a pipe while perched on the wheels of a long trailer (frames 11 & 12), with a woman and her small child leaning against a pole (frame 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
