Description

All images show members of two families near the home of Karena Karena, in a clearing, at Hikurangi. People have since been identified by Hugh Karena, including Jason Luke (frames 1, 4, and 8 to 10), Jason Karena (frame 1), Elise Karena, Kirsty Luke, Hugh Karena and Lisa van Hulst (frames 5 & 6), and Selwyn Luke (frames 8 to 12). Frames 8 to 12 show men preparing a hangi, with a large hangi stone shown in frame 7. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
