All images taken in the Northland area, at Te Tii Marae, Waitangi, Te Karuwha Parade, Paihia at a major gathering, perhaps in preparation for 1981 Waitangi Day. Ans Westra has focused on small groups and individuals in close-up views. They include a group of four women with a small child (one older woman wearing a large sunhat and smoking a cigarette) (frames 1, 3 & 4); a woman standing by a rack of clothing for sale (frame 5); a young man leaning against a car, reading a copy of a magazine "Battle action. Holiday special, 45p" (frames 6 to 8 & 10); and a younger woman carrying a kete over her arm, also smoking a cigarette (frame 11). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
