- Description
All images taken in the Northland area, at Te Tii Marae, Waitangi, Te Karuwha Parade, Paihia at a major gathering, perhaps in preparation for 1981 Waitangi Day. Many of the images show Māori women, some at stalls with produce for sale including kete (flax baskets), rewena (Māori sour-dough bread), and china. Others show women and children, and a young woman carrying a loaf of rewena bread while looking at other stalls (frames 9 to 11). Three Māori men are seen together, one of them standing beside a bucycle (frame 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
