Scenes in the Northland area, in Kaitāia and at Te Tii Waitangi Marae

All images taken in the Northland area, in Kaitāia, and at Te Tii Waitangi Marae. The first six images show young Māori women and men in a street in Kaitāia. Then frames 7 to 12 were possibly taken in the open space along Te Karuwha Parade, Paihia, leading to Waitangi. A large group of young Māori men are lined up with hoe (waka paddles) held upright, and horizontally (frames 8, 9 & 10). They are all wearing shorts and tipare (woven headbands). Two women and a child are walking towards the camera bringing kete (baskets) and boxes to a gathering (frame 7); a woman sitting on the ground has a mat in front of her with several kete hanging on a rope, and other kete on the mat with price labels (frame 11); and a woman and young girl are preparing pieces of water melon and halves of honeydew melons with fillings of fruit (frame 12).
