Description

All images show people during demonstrations against the Springbok Tour. They were all taken in Parliament grounds, most on the steps leading up to the Parliamentary Library. Several people are seen holding flags "Amandla Amandla", a large group of policemen are lining the steps monitoring the situation (frame 4); a huge crowd is standing down on the lawn below Parliament (frame 8); two Māori women are seen near the gates of Parliament grounds (frames 9 & 10); and figure of a clown wearing a costume and face paint (possibly a member of the Red Mole theatrical company), is seen performing (frame 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
