Description

All images show people during demonstrations against the Springbok Tour in Rintoul Street, Newtown, Wellington. Most of the images show a group of young boys, some wearing helmets, who have collected portions of some of the protest placards which had been used as shields by protesters (frames 1, and 4 to 11). They are outside a building containing the "Chinatown Takeways" and "Rintoul Fruit Supply". Two older women, both wearing heavy coats and headscarves are standing under the verandah of a shop (frames 2 & 3), and an older woman and man are seen in frame 12. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
