Scenes of Māori outside Pipitea Marae, many holding envelopes or letters
- Date
- 1981
- Reference
- AW-2208
- Description
All views were taken outside Pipitea Marae. They include men and women, several of whom are holding an envelope, others are reading what appears to be a letter. The Government Printing Office is seen in the background in frames 6 & 8 to 11. One man has been identified as kaumātua Sonny Waru (frame 7). [Occasion possibly linked with plans for creating the exhibition "Te Māori" held in July 1981, at which Sonny Waru was involved. See also Ans Westra reference number AW-2207]. Frame 12 shows a family group standing on the footpath on the road near the Marae. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
