Scenes of protests on Waitangi Day 1981. A group of young Māori, including several boys are on a walkway leading up from the Railway Station, handing out broadsheets entitled "Protest Waitangi" (frames 1 to 4); a closeup view of a man holding the pole of a large folded flag (on the left in frame 5 with another man beside him) and The Beehive in the background. The second man is also seen on the right in frame 10, beside a young woman with a baby in a pram; a woman wearing overalls is speaking into a loudspeaker on the back of a truck (frame 9); and a number of people with flags and placards are seen on the lawn outside Rutherford House (frame 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
