All views taken at Ratana at the annual celebration commemorating the birth of Tahupotiki Wiremu Ratana on January 25th. Men and women are seen relaxing on mattresses under a verandah (frames 1, 9 & 10); two women are sitting outisde on a bench seat leaning against a wall in front of open windows with teatowels hanging over windowsills behind them (frame 2); a young man sitting on a bench seat outside, wearing sunglasses, is holding a small boy on his lap (frames 3 to 8); and two women and a man are sitting in the sun (frames 11 & 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
