All images taken at a bar in Ruatōria, Gisborne. Two women are sitting outside in the sun, one with a baby in her arms, with a bottle of beer on the table in front of them (frame 1); two young men, one wearing work overalls, are leaning on a high table with bottles of beer (frames 2 to 4); two women seated at a table (frames 5 to 7); a young man talking to a pākehā wearing a black singlet and a cap (frames 8 to 10); open louvres are seen in the background in the bar. Three older men in work clothes are sitting on a seat outside, one wearing a singlet, a cap and gumboots, smoking a cigarette, and one with a moustache wearing a checked shirt, a beanie and work boots (frame 11); two young children outside (frame 12).
