Description

All images show Māori men, women and children at an open air swimming pool at Ngata memorial College, Ruatoria. A man, with a beard and long hair tied back, is teaching his small daughter to swim (frames 1 to 9); and an older Māori woman is watching the swimmers (frames 10 to 12), using a camera (frame 10). She is wearing a cap with a peak under a sunhat plonked on top. A fenced tennis court [?] is seen behind the pool (frames 1 & 9); and a several buildings are seen in the background in frame 6. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
