Description

All frames possibly taken in the Ruatoria, Gisborne area showing Māori men, women and children. An older woman wearing a raincoat is standing on the footpath outside a shop selling wine in an unidentified town (frame 1); a man and woman are meeting and greeting with a hongi (frames 2 to 3); the same woman, wearing a headscarf is talking to a bus driver from a New Zealand Railways, Road Service (frames 4 & 5); she is seen on her own (frames 7 & 8), and the driver is on his own (frame 9). A man is riding a horse with a small boy standing behind him (frames 10 & 11), and a smaller child is sitting in front (frame 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
