Description

All frames taken at Pipitea Marae in 1980. They show close-up views focussing on two women seated in the entrance porch of the Pipitea Marae. They are singing to guitar music played by a young woman (seen in frame 7, with a kete (woven basket) on the ground behind her). The woman on the left is wearing a boldly patterned dress and a filmy scarf on her head, and she is seen holding the words to the music (frames 2 to 6). Two small Māori girls (seen in previous sequence at AW-2020) are seen behind the women (frames 1 & 2). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
