Description

All frames taken at Pipitea Marae in 1980. Most of the images show close-up views of Māori outside the wharenui. A man with a moustache, wearing sunglasses and a straw cowboy hat, is holding his small baby son (frames 1 to 6). The mother is seen behind (frames 3, 4 & 6). Frames 7 to 10 were taken in the entrance porch of the wharenui and show several people sitting or standing in the shade. Another man with a beard is sitting inside at a table feeding his baby son (frames 11 & 12). The baby is wearing a bib which reads "Jesus helps", and he and his father are laughing together (frame 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
