- Description
All images show Māori men, women and children possibly at a poukai (Kīngitanga ceremony) at Tūrangawaewae (Identified from previous images at AW-1998 showing part of the wharenui). A number of people are standing on the edge of a pavement (frame 1); a man and woman with a dog on a lead are walking past a punga wood fence (cyathea dealbata), one board painted with a Māori design (frame 2); two men are standing beside a bus labelled "M[an]ukau" (frame 4); other groups including families and groups of men are seen on grass in front of rows of parked cars (frames 5 to 12). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
