- Description
All frames taken at the opening of the Pipitea Marae on 31st May 1980. They were taken inside the wharenui after the formal ceremonies were over. Most are close-up views of individuals or small groups chatting together. A woman is holding a kete (woven bag) with a group of people behind her by a table laden with food (frame 2); another woman is wearing a dress with a Māori design across the bodice and down the side (frames 4 & 5); and in frame 12 two women are having drinks out of paper cups, both wearing warm coats, with the one on the right wearing a fur coat and holding a flax kete. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
