All scenes taken during the opening of urban pan-tribal marae, Glen Eden, Auckland on 19th April 1980. They show men, women and children moving away from the wharenui after the main opening ceremony, with close-up views of indiviuals in many of the images. A large marquee is seen in the background in frame 3, and close-up views of men involved in organising the hangi (frames 4 to 12). Frame 11 shows steam coming from the hot food as one of the pits is opened. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
