- Description
All scenes taken at the opening of urban pan-tribal marae, Glen Eden, Auckland in April 1980. They show a woman Māori warden standing by a car outside the marae (frame 1); then two women call with a karanga as part of the welcome pōwhiri. Men ready to perform a haka are seen in the background, with women poi dancers behind (frames 4 & 5). The haka is being perfomed in frames 6 to 12 with the men holding taiaha. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
