- Description
All scenes taken at the opening of urban pan-tribal marae, Glen Eden, Auckland (April 1980), except frame one which shows a young woman in a street by a shop window. The following images show people gathering at the new marae, with Ans Westra focusing on individuals in many of the scenes. A large group on tiered seats are holding programmes in frames 7 & 10; and frames 11 & 12 show a woman wearing a head scarf, carrying a kete. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
