- Description
Scenes 1 to 6 probably taken at Waiwhetū Marae. They show Māori men and women, some seated in a room (possibly a porch) with coats and bags on hooks in the background, in one of the marae buildings. There are kuia and kaumatua, and younger people including a young man with his arm around a kuia, and a small girl with plaits talking to a group of three women. Scenes 7 to 12 show Māori groups arriving in Molesworth Street and outside Parliament Buildings. Two Māori wardens are seen; a man (frames 9 & 10) and a woman (frames 7 to 10). They are wearing their uniforms including hatbands with Māori designs. Several men and women are seen standing outside a bus in Molesworth Street with the Court of Appeal in the background on the left. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified.
