Description

Frames 1 to 5 show five young Māori on and by a bench-seat, possibly in upper Queen Street, Auckland. They are outside a number of shops, including the Civic Stereo Centre, and the Erotic Boutique. Frame 6 looks across a road toward shops including "Wellesley Cameras" and the "Peach Garden" [restaurant?], with a young boy crossing the road in the foreground. Two people are walking past the front of the Auckland Town Hall in frame 7; and several young people including a Māori youth with an Afro hairstyle, are sitting on seats with the Town Hall in the background. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
