Frames 1 to 4 show people in Lower Queen Street, Auckland, with the South Pacific Hotel in Customs Street East in the background. They are watching street theatre performed by two men. One has long hair and a beard, and is wearing white shorts over long black trousers, a military jacket and top hat. He is seen in frames 5 to 7. (He is also wearing a large mask with the words "The Earl" printed on the lower edge (frames 5 & 6). Another man in costume, also with a beard, is wearing a white jacket with a label reading "Saturday" on the pocket, and a white pith helmet with the label "Sunday" on the front (frames 3 & 4); he then is seen wearing the mask in frames 8 to 12. The Auckland Chief Post Office Building is in the background (frames 5 & 6, & 8 to 11). Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
