Description

All scenes were taken in the area near the Lower Hutt Horticultural Hall and Dowse Art Gallery in 1979. Two men, standing with two others on the steps to the Lower Hutt Horticultural Hall are Matiu Rata and Rowley Habib (frames frames 1 & 2). A policeman is seen in frames 3 to 5; a Māori woman and two small are watching proceedings (frames 7 to 9); and a Māori woman with long dark hair (Waana Davis) is seen in frames 10 to 12. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
