Scenes during the General Strike on 20 September 1979

All scenes relate to the General Strike held in Wellington on 20th September 1979, while Prime Minister Robert Muldoon was in power. An unidentified woman is seen in close-up views (frames 1, 5 & 7); people are leaning over barriers talking to policemen who are lining them, with a placard against the fence reading "Tax wealth not wages", and a unit of military men are lined up on the forecourt of Parliament (frames 2 to 4); other close-up views show individual people talking to policemen; many umbrellas are seen; the incomplete St Paul's Cathedral in Molesworth Street, is seen in the background frame 11); people are seen moving away from Parliament over a sea of mud after the crowds have been standing on the lawns in the rain (frames 10 to 12), and in which a man is leaving with his placard "Sink the [lid?] on profit not jobs" (frame 11).
