- Description
All scenes relate to the General Strike held in Wellington on 20th September 1979, while Prime Minister Robert Muldoon was in power. They show men and women standing in Parliament grounds, many with placards. Placards include ""Printers protest"; "NZ Meat Workers union, Waitara"; Fight Social Welfare cuts"; "Education is New Zealand's future"; and "Opose discriminatory fees on overseas students". Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
