- Description
All scenes taken at Te Ao Mārama at Te Ao Hou Marae on the Whanganui River. Frames 1 to 3 show two clergymen wearing vestments, walking near the marae, and standing below a pole linked with the roof of the marae, from which four flags are flying (frame 4). A large group are standing in the doorway (frames 4 & 5); Rangimotuhia Katene is speaking (frame 5); another group is seated in the shade under a tree (frames 6 & 7). Turama Hawira who is now "Te Pou Tupua" o te Awa o Whanganui is seen in frame 11. Other scenes show men, women and children near another building at the Pā. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
