Protest against the NZSIS Amendment Bill 1977

All frames show demonstrators and onlookers coming away from Parliament grounds after a protest against the NZSIS Amendment Bill (New Zealand Security Intelligence Service Amendment Bill). They were taken as the protesters march along Taranaki Street towards the SIS headquarters. A group wearing face-masks depicting Prime Minister Robert Muldoon, and, and head-covering masks (which give an appearance similar to that of Ned Kelly, the Australian outlaw) are seen in frames 1 to 3, 6 to 8, and 12. A group of office workers are seen outside the Vivian Street branch of the Bank of New Zealand (frame 4), and a large contingent of police are seen in frames 5 and 12 near the headquarters. Various placards and banners are visible in frames 8 to 12 including "NZ the way I want it. Il duce Benito Muldoon", "Wgtn High opposes SIS Bill", "Smash Fascism", "Muldoon, How much power do you want?", and, "Smash S.I.S. Bill. Fight for democracy".
